Nerve Testing

When a patient comes to Peak Medical with discomfort for which a cause is not readily apparent, we may suggest nerve testing to determine whether there is an issue with a muscle or with the nerves. Some indications that you may need to undergo nerve testing are tingling, pain, numbness, and/or weakness.

Tests are performed in 2 minimally invasive ways: the nerve conduction velocity test, which detects nerve damage through electrodes that measure the speed of electrical pulses, and the electromyogram test, during which a patient is asked to contract and release various muscles, into which tiny needles have been inserted by a doctor.

Once the results of these tests are obtained, your Peak Medical professional will work with you to personalize an effective care regimen designed to fit your lifestyle and help you meet your desired wellness goals.
